SURGICAL PACK, GOWN AND TOWEL
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers one size of a sterile, disposable, reinforced, operating gown with towel, packaged in two different quantities, suitable for preventing bacterial migration into the sterile field.
Salient characteristics.
The surgical operating-gown with towel shall be sterile, large, size, disposable and nonwoven.
The gown shall conform to the following minimum dimensions in inches:

The surgical operating gowns shall be full length with a generous overlapping back closed with plastic snap fasteners or hook and pile fastener at the neck area. The snap fasteners shall be applied to a nonwoven ribbon made from the body material. The ribbon shall be sewn to the gown; three (3) male snaps on the left flap and two (2) female snaps on the right flap. The gown shall have four (4) tie tapes; two (2) on the outside and two (2) on the inside, approximately at waist level. The tie tapes shall be attached to the gown. The gown shall have a nonwoven neck binding sewn to neck of gown body.
